getting started
Q: How do I register?
A: Registration for POZ Mentor is easy, free—and required. Click here for a step-by-step guide to signing up and building a profile.
Q: Is POZ Mentor completely free? Will you charge for it in the future?
A: There are no plans now to charge for POZ Mentor services.
Q: On the sign-up page, I
can’t find the year I was born.
A: You can’t join POZ Mentor if you’re younger than 18. Please see the POZ.com Terms of Use for more about that and other policies.

Q: I forgot my username or password?
A: Please click here and type in either your username OR the e-mail address you signed up with. We’ll send you a reminder.
Q: How do I change my username?
A: You can’t change your username. You’re welcome, however, to register with a different username and set up a new profile—and then make the first inactive (on your
Edit Profile page).

Q: Why is nothing happening when I click on profiles and/or messages?
A: If you've set your pop-up blocker to block pop-up ads, you might have set it to block regular pop-up pages as well. In order to view any pop-up pages you select without also having to view ads, reset your blocker to "normal" instead of "strict" when you browse our site. Or turn it off entirely.

Q. How do I make sure nobody knows my e-mail address?
A. The only way other members can find out your e-mail address is if you choose to give it to them yourself.
Q. How does POZ Mentor protect my privacy?
A. All your privacy questions should be addressed in the POZ.com Privacy Policy.
harassment
Q. How can I stop somebody from sending me POZ Mentor messages?
A. If you want to stop receiving messages from another member but they keep sending them, click on “block this user” on one of their messages to you.
Q. How do I report another member who is abusive or harassing?
A. Send an e-mail to mentor@poz.com with the member’s username and a detailed description of your experience. We will investigate the issue and take appropriate action.

Q: What is Meet the Mentor?
A: Meet the Mentor is a great way to receive more questions and establish more connections. To be considered for Meet the Mentor, e-mail us your username, picture and a little information about yourself at mentor@poz.com—include when you were diagnosed, what you do and the topic you are most interested in answering questions about.

Q: What’s favorites?
A: Favorites is a list of member profiles you want to keep track of.
Q: How do I add someone to my favorites?
A: Click on the “Favorite” button on your search results or on the member’s profile. The member will show up on your Favorites List.
network
Q: What’s my network?
A: Your network is a list of other members whose
mentoring requests you’ve accepted—or vice versa.

Q. Why is no one sending me messages or requests?
A: Try working on your profile a little—the more information you provide, the better. Also, send out some of your own messages. And keep trying!
Q: What do I do when a mentor does not respond to my questions?
A: If you’ve tried several times and given them a few days to respond each time, Try another mentor! If this continues to happen with a range of people and your profile is in good shape with plenty of detail on who you are, then please send the details to mentor@poz.com and we’ll try to find out what’s up.
closing your account
Q: How do I close my POZ Mentor account?
A: Click on the Edit Profile button on your member toolbox and go to Account status, near the top of the page. Choose “inactive” on both pulldown menus. Should you return to the site later, you can re-open your account with the same username.
